Rumah IbadahTerms of Use
Effective 10 October 2026. These terms apply to the Rumah Ibadah app on Android, iOS and the web, and to this website, published by Rumah Ibadah ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
1. What the app is
Rumah Ibadah is a tool that (a) shows places of worship near a location using volunteer-maintained map data and (b) displays religious texts and translations from third-party open sources. It is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for any religious organisation, government body or data provider, and it does not promote any religion over another.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the rules of the store you got it from. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or use the app to build a competing data service, except where the law allows.
3. Price and purchases
The Android version is free. The iOS version is sold on the Apple App Store for a one-time price of $1.56 (shown in US dollars; Apple converts it to your currency and may round it). Purchase, billing, taxes and refunds are handled only by Apple under the App Store terms. There are no subscriptions, advertisements or in-app purchases on either platform.
4. Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully and with respect for others. Do not use it to harass, target, monitor or discriminate against people or communities because of their religion, or to interfere with any place of worship. Do not overload the third-party services the app relies on.
5. Disclaimer
- Map data. Places, names, addresses and locations come from OpenStreetMap contributors. They may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Always confirm opening hours, access rules and dress requirements with the venue before visiting.
- Holy book texts. Original texts and translations come from independent open sources and are shown as received, apart from technical clean-up. They may contain errors or follow a particular editorial tradition. They are offered for reading and study only and are not religious rulings or official editions. For authoritative guidance consult your own religious community.
- Availability. Map and text content is fetched live from third-party services we do not control. Those services may change, limit or shut down, and the app may stop showing some content as a result.
- No professional advice. Nothing in the app is legal, medical, financial or religious advice.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including reliance on map data or holy book content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

- Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), openstreetmap.org/copyright. Map tiles © OpenStreetMap.
- Qur'an text and translations via alquran.cloud.
- Bible texts (Westminster Leningrad Codex, SBL Greek New Testament, Alkitab Yang Terbuka, Kitab Suci Zabur and Injil in Malay, World English Bible) via the HelloAO Bible API, bible.helloao.org.
- Torah with JPS translation via Sefaria, sefaria.org.
- Dhammapada via SuttaCentral, suttacentral.net.
- Bhagavad Gita via the Vedic Scriptures API.
- Guru Granth Sahib via GurbaniNow, gurbaninow.com.
- Analects and Tao Te Ching: public-domain texts built into the app.
Each source remains the property of its owners and is used under its own licence. If you own rights in any content and believe it is used improperly, contact us and we will respond promptly.
8. Trademarks
Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Apple, the Apple logo and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names belong to their owners. Their use here does not imply endorsement.
9. Changes and termination
We may update the app or these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. We may withdraw the app from a store at any time; your copy keeps working subject to the third-party services it depends on.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Disputes will first be addressed in good faith by contacting us.
